Portugal won Croatia for 2-0 (14-16; 12-16) on the first game of Group B. The first part had to be decided by a Golden Goal and the second part, the advantage was for Portugal all allong. The Portugal coach, Paulo Félix, said “the greatest difficulty was not knowing the other team. Croatia is very good on the field.”
